WINTER CONCERT

The holiday season is here and students at Athlone are busily getting ready for our winter concerts. On December 18th, students in grades K - 3 will perform “Toys” and students in grades 4- 5 will perform “Bring on the Snow!” in the afternoon (starting at 12:45pm) and evening (starting at 6:15pm).

For these performances K- 3 students are asked to wear dark pants and tops (brown, grey etc.) as they are representing different kinds of toys. Grade 4- 5 students are asked to wear a scarf, toque or mittens to help develop the outdoor feel for their musical. Please no jeans or shirts with logos. Students with speaking/acting roles will wear costumes specific to the character provided by the school.

In the afternoon, “Toys” will begin at 12:45 and run for approximately 30 minutes. There will be about a 10-15 minute break before the performance of “Bring on the Snow!”

In the evening, the classrooms for K- 3 students in the production of “Toys” will be open at 5:45pm (the same time as the gymnasium doors)

“Toys” will run from 6:15- 6:45 (approximately)

Break: 6:45 – 7:05 (This will give parents of K- 3 students a chance to pick their children up from their classrooms and for any audience turnover)

“Bring on the Snow!” will then run from 7:10 – 7:45pm (approximately)

The grade 4-5 classrooms will not be open during the performance of ‘Toys’ as staff will be helping with the production.  Those classrooms will open at 6:45pm. Subsequently, K-3 classrooms will not be open during “Bring on the Snow!” If you have children in both productions, the younger ones can sit with you in the audience during the 4/5 musical. Grade 4/5 students can be picked up at their homerooms after the performance of “Bring on the Snow!”

In the past, the parking lot at Good News Church has been at our disposable, however the church has something going on the evening of the 18th. So Athlone guests are NOT able to use that parking lot on the evening of December 18th.

The Athlone Parent Council will once again be raffling some prize baskets before the concerts and during the break.

We are looking forward to a very festive afternoon and evening. Hope to see you there!
